WOODEN BOARDS

The waoden wall boards by Erich Engelbrecht—here presented as a selection—constitute a significant body of work from the 1960s, ranging somewhere between painting and wood sculpture.
These unique artworks are displayed at a certain distance from the wall or suspended from the ceiling, creating a captivating interplay of light and shadow.
Some of them served later as designs for tapestries or were reinterpreted as impressive steel sculptures.
